Research into Magazine Institutions




EMAP

Emap International Limited (now known as Top Right Group) is a British media company, specialising in the production of business-to-business magazines, and the organisation of business events and conferences. The company was once a constituent of the FTSE 100 Index but is now owned by Apax and Guardian Media Group. "EMAP" is an acronym, standing for East Midland Allied Press.

EMAP was the second largest magazine publisher in the UK. However in June 2007, the company split up and they sold off in December. They owned radio stations such as Kiss and Magic.




International Publishing Company

IPC is a consumer magazine and digital publisher in the UK. Their Portfolio is very large selling over 350 million copies each year. There is Marketforce, the UKs leading magazine distribution business. They own magazines such as NME and Guitar. The IPC magazine has titles under five magazine divisions:

  1. Connect
  2. Inspire
  3. Ignite
  4. Southbank
  5. TX
